French Tech Connect #46 - The Future of Beauty: Powered by Technology, Driven by Consumer Needs
Updated: 17 hours ago
On July 9, 2026, we gathered at Tipstown S6 in Seoul for French Tech Connect #46, dedicated to “The Future of Beauty: Powered by Technology, Driven by Consumer Needs.”
The evening brought together our community to explore how technology can help beauty companies better understand consumers, address individual needs, and create more personalized products and experiences.

We welcomed three speakers bringing complementary perspectives from a global beauty group, Korean beauty technology, and the French-Korean luxury and retail sectors:
Sharon So, Corporate Affairs & Engagement Director at L’Oréal
Xavier Dufoix, Founder & President of Latitude 37
Luke Yun, Co-founder & CEO of Prinker
The panel was moderated by Yejin Kim, Board Member of La French Tech Seoul.

Technology shaped by consumer needs
From AI-powered personalization and digital skin diagnostics to beauty devices and connected retail experiences, the discussion explored how technology is changing the way beauty products and services are developed and experienced.
Understanding consumers was central to these conversations. Data and digital tools offer new ways to identify individual needs, but meaningful personalization also raises an essential question: how can these technologies bring practical value to people’s everyday beauty routines?
By bringing together different industry perspectives, the evening connected technological possibilities with the expectations of the people who use them.
Connecting French and Korean beauty expertise
The panel provided an opportunity to consider beauty innovation through both French and Korean perspectives, connecting the experience of an international beauty leader with entrepreneurship and knowledge of both markets.
A special highlight was Luke Yun’s live demonstration of Prinker’s technologies, giving participants a closer look at the products behind the discussion and an opportunity to see beauty technology in action.
These exchanges reflected the purpose of French Tech Connect: bringing people from different backgrounds together to share experiences and explore opportunities within the French-Korean ecosystem.

Beauty remains deeply human
One idea kept coming back throughout the evening: while technology is changing the way we create and experience beauty, beauty itself remains deeply human.
Personal preferences, sensory experiences, emotions, and cultural influences all shape our relationship with beauty. Alongside the possibilities offered by AI and digital tools, the conversation kept this human dimension at its heart.
Thank you to everyone who joined us, asked questions, and continued the conversation during the networking session over French food and drinks. Those informal exchanges are always a valued part of our community gatherings.
A special thank you to Sharon So, Xavier Dufoix, Luke Yun, and our moderator Yejin Kim for their contributions.
Many thanks to our sponsors Fives Group, L’Oréal Korea, and Heroes of Korea for their support in making this event possible.
We look forward to seeing you at the next French Tech Connect!
